BBCS Brain-Based Conversation Skills®

The BBCS Brain-Based Conversation Skills® course is a coach training program with a foundation in neuroscience. It can be attended as a standalone course or as part 1 of the Brain Based Coaching Certificate®.

The objective of the BBCS is to support you to develop strong brain-based coaching skills and have insightful, effective conversations in any situation. Grounded in research, this course offers evidence-based strategies to drive positive change; empowering individuals to navigate obstacles, gain insights, and embark on a path toward sustainable personal and professional growth.


If you’ve never coached before, you will gain a comprehensive ‘suite’ of brain-based tools to start coaching others quickly and effectively. If you’re experienced, you will sharpen your skill set, and your conversations will be more brain-friendly and results driven. .

This dynamic course is also available as a standalone option, providing participants with the opportunity to earn 30 ICF CCE units.

BBCT Brain-Based Coaching Toolkit™
NeuroLeadership Institute’s Brain-Based Coaching Toolkit is your opportunity to integrate the foundational skills learned in the BBCS Brain-Based Conversation Skills® program. Learn how to facilitate coaching engagements over time and incorporate tools that deepen the coaching experience. Who are the International Coaching Federation (ICF?)
The International Coaching Federation is a global organization dedicated to advancing the coaching profession, by setting high standards, providing certification and building a worldwide network of coaching professionals.
What is the ICF accreditation level for each program?
The Brain-Based Coaching Certificate program is approved as a Level 1 Provider by the ICF and provides 68.5 hours of coach education training (BBCS: 30 hours and BBCT: 38.5 hours). The program includes group mentoring, individual mentoring, and a performance evaluation, all of which are requirements for the ICF’s ACC Certificate application.
What is the ICF Level 1?
ICF Level 1 is the  first level of credentialing offered by the International Coaching Federation.  Graduates of the full Based Coaching Certificate (BBCS + BBCT) are eligible to apply for the Associate Certified Coach (ACC) Credential using the Level 1 application path, subject to meeting the credentialing requirements.
What proof of Certification will I receive?
Upon completing all modules and meeting attendance requirements, you'll receive proof of ICF CCE units, a digital certificate, and a Credly Digital Badge for each course. These can be displayed on your website, social media, marketing materials, and email signature.
What's the attendance requirement for the Brain Based Coaching Certificate?

For BBCS, the requirements include attending 90% of all live learning sessions and completing 90% of the self-study learning. For BBCT, in addition to the above, participants must also complete 100% of coaching in action and individual mentoring sessions, and pass the final performance evaluation.

What qualification/prior experience do I need to join this program?
Prior coaching experience isn't necessary for attending the BBCS. Our brain-based tools and techniques empower coaches, regardless of experience level, to achieve better results. Completion of BBCS is required to advance to the Brain Based Coaching Toolkit.
